Everyone? US too?
Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

oh men! he used the key word "imported"... do i need to explain?
as a side note - many popular and cheap "domestic" panels are actually relabeled imports. those will be in the first wave to raise prices.
those real domestic panel manufacturers such as sunpower, will not sit there idling. when they see less competitions from imports, they will jack up their prices to widen their margins. if you can't see this now, you will be told by the market in half a year or so. good luck!

I've been following this closely for a long time, and have talked with a few clients that run large solar companies. My opinion is prices will go up, but not 30%. The commercial element drives the industry, and as long as gas prices remain low, the demand for solar will not be as strong. The key will be to watch the development of "solar farms" to see if that continues.

Yes, there will be a short term increase of prices of all panels due to reduced supply (at previous cost), but it wont be 30P. Will probably be 20P for a period and then drop down a bit.
I doubt US production will ever provide the opportunity for costs to zero out, and if it does, it will be 2+ yrs down the road and then you wont be talking apples-to-apples anyway.

2/17 is the date th 30% goes into affect but only on "new to US" panels. Apparently there are a lot of if/and/or/but clauses in the law and the suppliers are still trying to figure it out.
We have been talking to our supplier and that is what he told us.
