While travelling through Beckley do not stay in the noisy truck stop alongside interstate 64/77. Go to the top of the hill and park at "Tamarack" the showplace of products made in WV. Park in the lower RV/Bus parking lot, tell the info desk person that you are there for the night and they will alert security to watch out for you. It is very quiet up there on the hill and the restaurant inside has good food at reasonable prices.

Article in the local paper today talking about plans for a LARGE hotel at Tamarack. Just ten miles from there is where the new BSA camp is going to be built. Since they're being banned from Fort A.P. Hill due to their stance against gay scoutmasters. A family gave the BSA 50,000 acres and millions of dollars to develope it.
