We have a large group of about 15 toyhaulers planning a trip to the Moab area the
last week of April. (Week of April 24th, 2006). We'll need a large, flat, dispersed
camping area where we will be able to ride our dirt bikes and quads. We can't
utilize their group camp areas, because they require all the OHV's be street legal.

The ranger at the BLM office in Moab advised us that there is no more dispersed
camping allowed within 20 miles of Moab, so I asked about group camping at
dispersed sites outside of that limitation. He stated that our timing could not have
been worse..... they expect traffic jams in the Moab area during that time of year
and dispersed camping, even 20 miles out they expect be full based on this year's
visitation. Apparently, with the increase of OHV as well as the popularity of Moab.....
they are dealing with too many people completing for the off road adventure.
He really wasn't too helpful..... maybe he was a mountain bike rider

Does anyone have good knowledge of the Moab areas north or south of town
where we might be able to boondock as a "dispersed camping" group and have
access to the trails. Thanks.
