I have a Honda 2000 that I run inside my CR-V. I crack the windows a bit just to get the fumes out. You can not hear it running !

I have never had a problem with the exhaust smell . If it was going. To be a problem, plan B was to run a piece of flex pipe from the exhaust out the tailgate.

Your right, I live next door in the Itasca and only run the Generator in the CR-V when running the MH Generator could disturb our neighbors !
It's nice to be a good neighbor (Mod edit).

I would think that running any internal combustion engine inside of a car.....would make it stink and would be hard to even air it out..........clothes with exhaust smell on them from working in the garage have to be left outside till washed!
To each their own though...........and Thank you.......I just thought it was your fuel pump relay stuck on......in your cr v

That was my 1st thought as well.
But after thinking about it I think Chuck 1935 deserves a gold star for his consideration of others ...(and that what he does in the privacy of his own car is his business).

I'm not THAT good of a neighbor that I want to stink up the inside of my car ! The exhaust goes out the tailgate which is ajar. I added a small extension to the stubby tailpipe that is also baffled and it exits outside.
So there you have it "no stink, no sound"

First you say you crack the windows and let it run, then you say you make up a tailpipe and leave the tailgate open.

If I saw my RV neighbor walk out to his car, pull the rope on a generator and close it back up, I wouldn`t think he was a good neighbor, I`d be changing camp sites.

My last boondocking was with 10,000 others camping at the Talladega 500. In moves 4 motorhomes behind me for 3 nights--all with construction generators running from 7:00 to midnight.

My ears have finally quit ringing from all the droning generators--and from their late night karioke of Ernest Tubb music. (No kidding!) It was torture.

Gotta love those construction generators ! When they fire up those bad boys it sounds like the Pistons are swapping holes !!

Honda 2000 should be quiet enough to leave it out in the open. Just tuck it underneath the MH neighbors will not hear it. Your Generator might need a new muffler. Why ruin a good CRV....just buy a good quiet generator. This is like stepping over a dollar bill to pick up a dime. It just doesn't make sense.
