The murder rate in the U.S. is much lower than much of the world. It's just that the availability of guns in this country makes guns a more prevalent method than stabbings, strangulation, bludgeoning, poison, etc. The fact is that crime is rare for RVers, and actually the public at large.
Scare Headlines Exaggerated The U.S. Crime Wave | FiveThirtyEight
Less than a 3 percent chance to experience property crime, and less than one-half of one percent of being a victim of violent crime. Most of that occurs in large urban areas. Just be aware of your surroundings and situation.

So is the count up to, um, say, ONE known incident of folks camping out and being violently attacked in 2015? I'm gonna take a fairly good risk on a guess that there is so much more to the story of the incident than in that one news article.

Yep, the count is up to ONLY ONE, but maybe if they had "been prepared", the count would still be at ZERO . . . .

Something to think about . . . .

Exactly. How could anyone know anything about preperations, ability, the incident itself, anything helpful at all really, from the one news article that was posted?

Fear mongers.
