Oven versus convection microwave

We have had 4 rigs. The first two had gas ovens. We never used it at all in number one and used it once to bake bread in number two. The last two have had microwave convection ovens. We have used it to roast a small turkey and to make pot pies and pumpkin pie very successfully. We should be able to use it for baking bread but haven't yet. I am very happy with the microwave/convection oven. We have a dishwasher where a gas oven would be and I use that to store dishes. So essentially, we have extra storage space with this arrangement. Works well for me.

For slow roasting we use a crock pot, makes great roasts, tender and flavorful.

My Motor home has both MW and Propane oven AND.. (This is an add on) an ELECTRIC oven.

The Electric is an AROMA brand, it's a table top (Counter top) oven bigger than a toaster oven but .. Well it's also a 4 slice toaster. It is large enough to have a rotisserie bult in and it can do a game hen or even a small chicken on the spit as well as a 9" pie or cheesecake (I don't do other cakes) it will hold a 9x11 pan, I used it a few days ago to bake some Candied Butternut Squash (MAN was that good).

But it too only works on shore/generator power.

You need to inspect it, Often there is room for an oven but the Original Owner choose to add to storage instead.. I use my oven mostly for storage but . Well, if I am cooking something that won't fit the Aroma, or if I'm not plugged in... I use Propane oven.

One suggestion, Put a pizza stone in the propane oven on the "Floor" just above the burner.. Or an unglazed clay tile of about the same size.

And the crock pot can sit outside and not heat up the rig during the summer.

We have both and unlike others we prefer the oven to the microwave. It's especially handy when boon docking. You don't have to listen to the generator and microwave working. It's nice to sit outside, or inside for that matter, and enjoy the surroundings without the added noise.
