Planning an Overnight in Palmdale, CA

Hey folks, we are hading down to Southern California, and were thinking of an overnight stop in Palmdale. Looks like Walmart is ok for overnight parking, anyone done an overnight in Palmdale?.

Wow....why overnite in Palmdale? JK...I grew up there and graduated from HS there.

Just aiming to avoid I5 tgrough LA and Walmart allows overnight parking. I know some towns dont allow it.

Might be safer to stop and rest in Jawbone Canyon right at the entrance or somewhere in Mojave. Not in Crimedale!

We ended up staying overnight at Walmart in Palmdale. The staff were very nice, aside from traffic noise, it was uneventful.

I lived there for 30+ years before moving to God's country in Tennessee (like Moses-Desert to the Promised Land)

WalMarts are free but usually noisy, Palmdale's right off the freeway. There are a couple of campsites 20 miles south in Crown Valley that are more convenient and quiet. Most free sites in CA are worth just that.
