How much juice does it need/use? It still seems to be electric only.

Absorption refrigerators operate on LP gas only. The 12V plug is only for lighting and to spark the pilot light.

It is a electric powered absorption refrigerator. There is no mention of gas at all.
Absorption refrigerators depend on heat to make the refrigerant move. That heat comes from electric or gas.
It draws 60 watts. That 5 amps at 12 volts.

I guess I misunderstood. I am looking for a small portable gas powered fridge to use to keep food cold when my all electric fridge has run the batteries down. Anybody have one like that

I think I would be looking at some solar options for your batteries. We did for the extra cooler/freezer we keep underneath. We use a 200 watt portable and a fixed 100 watt on the roof and it does well. We do not have an electric fridge though.

We have a Norcold MRFT-60 in our basement that has quit working. Wondering if it makes sense to replace or have it fixed (we never used it much), or just pull it out and use the space for a nice big "regular" cooler like a Yeti or Penguin that could service for easy access to cold drinks when outside & would keep things cold for several days. Any thoughts?

Why not use the generator to bring the batteries back up to full charge when needed? If the Solei doesn't already have an AGS one can be added.

We have Waeco refrigerator with about the same volume that runs from 120AC 240AC and 12VDC. It is powered when we are not on shore power from our solar. It uses a Dan Foss compressor.

Large 12/24 VDC native compressor refrigerators draw under 10 amperes when running, some half that. My Nova Kool RFU6800 uses 60 to 80 ampere hours a day, depending on outside temperature, which is easily accommodated with a modest solar set up.

Eco Solar Cool
I do not know if these are still made but we have an Eco Solar Cool refer-freezer and this unit runs on DC only from 36 to 12 volts. it does not have an internal fan so its kind of like a never-cold in that respect but the freezer is so cold that it froze 100 proof Wild Turkey  I have never seen that before. I have a Fluke Infrared thermometer that goes to -30 and it was maxed out at -31.

I have never seen one those. How do they vent to atmosphere? Or do you just operate it outside?
I have the CF80 compressor type, and they don't use much power at all, if that was another alternative for you.
