Solar used for storage battery topoff

Hi I'm a shooting enthusiast and I have my RV for staying at the tournaments. So I'm not doing much boondocking and staying at full campgrounds. But my RV sits unplugged at a campground most of summer when not being used. I'm thinking of putting 100 w solar system just to keep the batteries topped off while not plugged in. I'd like to get something that I can grow into if I decide to start boondocking more. Getting close to retirement age. Like to start RVing more. I have 4 battery class 27 with full generator and inverter in a DP. Is a home depot 100w system for ~$300 a good starter system with room to grow? I don't now if I should spend extra money on a mppt controller out of the gate not knowing if ill ever need it. If not Home depot can you recommend a good starter system?

Great question for those of us who store the RV.

A big solar set is great, but our only need was keeping the cells topped off, so we acquired a couple dashboard cells like:
We are not affiliated in any way.

Solar tech and cost is improving everday...so we are holding off on the bigger system until needed.

Just one way to do it.
Safe travels

A 100 watt solar panel. Mounts if you are gong to a fix it to the roof, or a couple pieces of PVC for a stand if portable / ground mounting. A charge controller, such as a small one from MorningStar. A couple pieces of wire. Install. Done.
