Had to put my 2-cents in-- Being from Oregon and having grown up as a serious backpacker and fisherman, a lot of us "home-growns" that enjoy nature don't love the BLM's resource extraction policies... So we've dubbed them the "Bureau of Logging and Mining". Just a joke, but a moniker much closer to the truth....

Google is your friend anytime you have questions like this. Put the letters "blm" into Google's search engine and the Bureau of Land Management's website is the first thing that pops up.
