I said NO, I am drawing water from the well. He was good with that.

Reference the Lake City Florida mention, the person who started the hubbub happened to own the campground in town. Hmmmm.

No kidding? All I would want is electricity, but which Walmarts have that?

Yes, but you have to shimmy up the lamp post. The outlets are up there.

So stealing electricity is OK, and telling others how to do it is OK too?

Can we have your legal name and a mailing address so when we all get thrown out of WalMart parking lots for dumping our tanks in the storm catch basins and poaching "a little" electricity we know exactly who to send gifts to?

I will go so far as to say you are encouraging theft. It ain't the crime if the century, but it's theft nonetheless to take electricity from an outlet on a building, fixture, or light pole in a parking lot if you do not get explicit permission to do so from the owner or agent of the property.

If I came back to my trailer after going day hiking and found my neighbor in the camp ground had attached a cord to my gennie and fired it up to get electricity, it would be theft. What you are suggesting is morally and ethically no different.

I think you need to get your sarcasm meter fixed.

I don't even know if outlets are up there !!!

I would never dump in a parking lot drain !!!

It only came to mind from a Erie Canal stop, while boating.

The electric was FREE for the boaters but didn't run the lenght of the whole dock. Some people noticed outlets on the lamp post tops and used them.

What did Nixion say ?

No I don't. Sarcasm too often mirrors reality or it wouldn't be sarcasm.

Folks will read these posts, and not see any sarcasm, and start dumping tanks and stealing electricity from places that allow them, either implicitly or explicitly park overnight in their parking lots, This will ruin a good thing for those of us that have quietly and respectfully enjoyed the graces, whether good or not, of our temporary hosts/property owners or agents.

If you think there aren't folks poaching these things from property owners or the folks that pay the bills for them, wait until it reaches the point where no one will have the guts to step up and say "That's wrong". When the signs go up, and rigs get towed, it will never be funny after that point ever again.

Ha. Ha.

As just about a general rule all Walmart threads come to a early demise here, think about why.

In part because sarcasm doesn't easily get transmitted over a text based communication medium?

I had no problem figuring out they were just kidding. I guess my sarcasm meter is fully calibrated.

That as well as straying off topic and letting things get personal. I hope my post was not misunderstood, it was supposed to be a polite request that the thread would go back to the original topic.
