I drive past there last week and must have missed it. I looked at the Google Earth and think I could find it next time. Thanks

Would Class A's make it?

SavageCat, You mention your Class C made it ok but you thought anything larger than that would have problems. Is there room for a 37" Class A? Beautiful pictures!

When I drive past there a couple weeks ago in a car, I thought the turnoff was onto a narrow dirt road with a sharp turn. There were a couple cars parked in front of it and people were taking photos (it was just at sunup) so I didn't get a good look.

If thats the road, I don't think my 30 ft Mirada with a TOAD would do very well.

I looked at it with Earthview and it looks OK with that. I'll need to look again next time I'm past it.

Hopefully SavageCat will chime in.

Class As can definitely make it but it might be difficult for those longer than 35' or so. You never know, though. There is one spot that has a circular drive that might work.

By the way, we just traded up to a Class A Thor Motor Coach ACE 27.1. Yay!

We did not have a toad and I think it would be wise to unhook first if you
have one. Use toad to scout out the area and estimate if your rig will make
it. The road is much better after the entrance. We are going to stop there again
on our way home with a new 29' vehicle (no toad) so will make sure that it works. Will advise.

If you can, take a photo of the entrance off of US-70. I wish I would have stopped now. but there were two cars pulled off and blocking what I think was the entrance.

I love this part of NM. I as stationed at Holloman and explored just about every road in that desert on a motorcycle. Of course that was 40 years ago.

I'm really surprised they don't have overnight inside White Sands.

We just traded up our 21 ft Class C Toyota for a 30 ft class A Mirada

We liked the Toyota because it got good gas mileage (15mpg) and could go/fit almost anywhere a full size car could go.

It made it all the way up to the Arctic Ocean (Prudhoe Bay, Alaska)

The Mirada has more room and more comfortable. We like it.

I was wondering if a 40' Class A would fit in the area? Has anyone tried it out for size?
Thanks

To think I used to live down there and never once knew of Razor Lake. I will have to check this out next time we head down that way. Much closer than Oliver Lee.

I forgot about Oliver Lee. I was stationed at Holloman back in the early 70s

The gate into Raptor Lake is pretty narrow. DW and I checked it out a month ago while we were camped at Oliver Lee. After we drove through we pretty much agreed to scratch it off the list.
