WORKHORSE CHASSIS MOTORHOME CLUB
SUN & SURF RALLY
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
October 6 – 10, 2008
The sunny shores of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina known as the Grand Strand are awaiting your arrival. Please come and join us for four fun filled days at the beach.
This rally is being held at Ocean Lakes Family Campground. The National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds has awarded its prestigious campground of the year award to Ocean Lakes 3 times. Most recently Ocean Lakes was awarded the South Carolina Governor's Cup.
Ocean Lakes has a great deal to offer; 2 pools (inside and outside), Jacuzzi, Laundromat with drop off laundry service, a large camp store , nature museum, snack bar with free Wi-Fi, golf cart rentals, bike rentals ....the list goes on! For more information, check out the facilities' website and amenities at www.oceanlakes.com.
Our schedule will begin with a welcome social sponsored by Workhorse Custom Chassis where we will meet some of the "dream team" and fellow club members. We are including 2 "Southern Themed" dinners, 2 full breakfasts, and a lunch for you to enjoy. Additionally, we will have daily social hours, with door prizes being awarded during the course of the rally. We expect to present informative seminars from Workhorse, Michelin, Allison and other vendors and suppliers.
We have local entertainment planned for you to enjoy during the evening after our dinners. There will be one free afternoon and evening for you to explore the local flavor of Myrtle Beach; there are numerous options within close driving distance. You can visit one of the many theatres in the area or for those of you that are daring, experience the thrill of the new Hard Rock Amusement Park!
Myrtle Beach has some of the most beautiful golf courses in the country so don't forget to bring your golf shoes and clubs. Shopping? Check out Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach. IMAX, Ripley's Aquarium, Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Café, Nascar Sports Grill, House of Blues and the Alligator Adventure are only but a few of the major entertainment and dining venues. Whatever you choose to do, your good times are only limited by your imagination.
Bring your beach chairs and sun tan lotion because the waters remain warm and inviting at this time of the year. For those less inclined to go swimming, relax, put up an umbrella, cozy up to a good book and enjoys the warm sands under your feet as sea birds fly by in loose formations.
As is customary we will be offering the opportunity to participate in a 50/50 raffle during the rally with the proceeds benefitting a local charity.
On behalf of the Myrtle Beach rally team we look forward to seeing you in October at what we hope will be the best rally yet! For additional information contact Colleen Pelchat colleen546@aol.com or Mike Pelchat at mpelchat@irv2.com.
For more information regarding South Carolina Tourism please feel free to visit the following websites at, Discover South Carolina or Myrtle Beach.com.
We're sure you'll love it here at the beach!

DriVer;
Bev & I are looking forward to the Rally as we have never been to the East Coast before. We are planning on coming a couple days early. We hope to see many of our friends from previous rallies.

Concluding my seminar here in Richmond, 4 attendees asked me for a registration form and they told they were coming.
They all asked if they had to be Workhorse Club Members and I said not exactly however our membership committee would invite them to join once they got to the rally. "IF" you are an FMCA member and a Workhorse chassis owner, you are certainly invited to attend the Sun & Surf Rally in Myrtle Beach. The WCMC is an FMCA Chapter.
All other FMCA members are also invited by request and should be sponsored by a "Club Member."
See you on the beach!

Lee I have 4 favorite stops in the Intercourse area. Stolfuss Meats at the point, across the street the Pickle Factory, and the Bird in Hand Bakery, follow signs at the railroad bridge, sits about 1.5 miles from main road.
There is also a quilt store in this area you might want to stop and see.
The Centerville General Store follow the road beside the Stores in the center of Intercourse 772, at the bottom of the hill take the right fork it will be about 1 mile up the hill on the right.
Neat experience, shop with the Amish. Check out the prepackaged bulk foods, if you do not see small quantities, ask they will break down.
Amish will be working in the fields you will see 6 team mules and all sorts of old manual farm equipment.

Just curious. Anyone except retirees go to these events?
I'de like to go if it was close, but both my wife and I work fulltime, and by the looks of it, all the events are DURING THE WEEK.
How much does it cost for people like me?
