Just received a email from my Home Post Commander, members complaints about telemarketers calling for donations. The American Legion only requests donations through the mail, and only to Paid To Date Members. I put this out there just incase this is not Maryland specific. The VFW does not solicit by phone either.

Thanks for the heads-up! I often wish I had a "nuke" button where I could zap the telemarkters equipment.

99% of the calls on our home phone are from telemarketers. I enjoy messing with them and always tell them I have recorded the conversation. That scares the hell out of the callers.

Thanks for the heads up. We don't have a home phone, just a line for the alarm. I use call blocker on my cell phone. I get NO telephone solicitors.

Yeah, I did that a lot, and they always hung up every time I told them that I record the conversation. However, it didn't stop them from calling me, and it still pisses me off. 3

I think I will just ignore them now. Or, I will track them down and sue them like what I read at My $4,500 Payday from a Telemarketer. They really have crossed the line. No one could avoid them.

Thanks for the info. We have ATT phone and I use the call blocker feature but we switched from Uverse to Directv and now we don't see the caller ID on our TV so it is hard to block a number now. I block cell calls using the history function on my phone.
