Just purchase the software from militarycampgrounds.us for your laptop. He keeps it updated frequently, no internet or wireless access required.
Does any of those apps explain the routing for RV's and large vehicles into a military installation?

...driving into a military installation is scary! Some gates have security obstacles (concrete barriers), i.e., Patrick AFB has a gate for cars and another gate for large vehicles. The issue is that once you're committed to drive onto that street to the gate, there is nowhere to turn around or back up if it is the wrong gate.
Did it happen to anyone yet? So far I have been lucky.

Have been using military base FamCamps for 13 years and have never had as issue going through the base gate.

It varies by installation, but usually active duty, retired mil, 100% disabled vet. Sometimes certain DOD civilians or retirees, Sometime other categories, check with installation concerned. Sometimes an eligible person can vouch a non eligible on the installation for a prescribed time but not always.

We have had "problems" getting on several bases since 9/11 due to the "Portable Barriers" they put in place during heighten security exercises. Have pulled up to "main gate" only to be turned around to find the "commercial gate".
At Ft Hood we were X rayed, Andrews AFB we were "dog sniffed". But then maybe its "jus us"

Perhaps you should stay elsewhere if the "problems" with increased security at military bases bothers you so much. Personally it is one of the reasons I love the FamCamps.

You haven't been to NAS Crane in Indiana. The main gate is only for less than 30' long vehicles no more than 8' wide. The truck gate is 24 miles away.
NAS Crane is perhaps the tightest security I've ever encountered in CONUS. Only militarycampgrounds.us has accurate information for entry with an RV.
