There are a few out here 😁 I'm one of them. You lasted longer than I did. Did my 6yrs and got out. Got Dolphins on the POGY in mid 80's. Glad I wasn't young enough to serve on diesel boats. I like A/C too much 😂

I spent 21 years in the Navy as a Brown Shoe so I was in no-way associated with Subs. Spent a lot of time on the FlightDeck wondering if you guys were out there. My hat is off to all the SubMariners out there, I for one am glad they are there.

Didn't know what I was getting into First class came into our enginemen "A" school and said the entire class going to Nam as front gunners on river boat unless signing up for Sub school. Have all the respect for those who did go , but no brainer for me. Pig boat sub was a whole different world glad I had the a chance to be a part of.

Did two patrols on Edison in "71". Didn't have enough time left to do third. I've always told friends that " I'm the only kid on my block that knows how to drive a sub " ( battle station was on stern planes ).
Was only in for 4 years finished at IC3 took care of everything forward frame 94 on boomer.

In our sub world there was only two things " A Submarine or a Target ". Yes we were out there and had your back, or should I say your " Belly "

Does this count? Served on the USS Chicago before it was turned into SSN-721. We had our dolphins in '73!
