Camping with a 45' MH

Any good FAM camps in the NE that will fit a 45' MH - any suggestions? Traveling from Utah through the upper side of I80 through ND, MN,MI and down and across to MA, VT, NH and Others.

You will be hard pressed to find any......and many campgrounds are restricted to 36' or less, and many only have water/elect only.
We were at Portsmouth naval rec area, and they had one site that was long enough for our 39' ( water/elect only.
You will have to do your homework to find sites that will fit.

While passing thru Ohio, if you don't mind going south of the turnpike by about 20 miles, Pier-Lon Campground has plenty of spaces for large motor homes.

Plenty of spaces available now.....

Carr Point in Newport RI.

Sites 10,11 or 12 at Forth Cliff in Marshfield MA. The most centrally located military campground with full hookups in NE.

That's not camping! That's a home on wheels! Lol We sold our MH and have a double wide park model in Florida now.

Some call it...Glamping: a portmanteau of glamorous and camping and describes a style of camping with amenities and, in some cases, resort-style services not usually associated with "traditional" camping.

Fort Belvoir in Virginia if you are visiting DC. They say they only fit 40’ but their sites have a 40’ pad with 10-15’ on either side. A 45’ fits with plenty of room.

I have heard the horror stories about Famcamps not fitting anything over 40’ or in some cases less. Not my experience.

Wright-Patterson FamCamp is a little south of your route (off 1-70) but it could easily handle your rig. And unlike I-80, 1-70 through Ohio is not a damned, ungodly, toll road. That’s something to relish before you get to the northeast.
