Civil War Started and Ended Here

Yesterday, April 12, 2011, on the grounds of Fort Moultrie and Fort Sumter re-enactors have been presenting what life was like on those historic days when the first shots were fired on Fort Sumter.

A very brief but glorious tenure by Major Robert Anderson put up a brave fight but surrendered the fort to South Carolina shortly there after.

April 12th was the 150th Anniversary of the start of the Civil War or War Between the States.

The war officially ended where it began in Fort Sumter when the US Flag was raised in July of 1865. Can you believe that there's a video of this?
