Sounds like a good cause. I'll keep it in mind. Once we're done with this one I doubt anyone would want it, but it would be better than no roof to sleep under. Thanks for the info!
If there happen to be police auctions of abandoned vehicles in your area you might see if there are any RVs on the list. They might be able to donate them if encouraged to do so.

I could maybe see where TT or 5ers would be of benefit in that program. But motorized Class A & C. Hell the owners with $$ can barley keep them operating, How's homeless folks gonna manage. But it does enforce my definition of RVin...Where you spend a small fortune to live like a homeless person..!

Just found this site: 'RV's for Vets' Helps Homeless Veterans | MYFOXZONE.COM
There asking for RV donations. What happen to the FEMA trailers ?? There were thousands of them parked/stored at an airport in Hope AR. I seem to recall there was a EPA problem with formaldehyde with them ??
They could put an end to homeless in the country.

Could be a great program but I agree with skypilot_1. Where is a homeless vet going to park a RV? Class of RV doesn't matter. I've been run out of places cause No Parking Overnight is allowed.

I was driving the backroads of AR a couple summers ago and saw about a 1,000 FEMA trailers parked in a large field. Wonder about their condition now. Probably deteriorated beyond use.

There are neighborhoods in some of the light industrial areas around Seattle where street parking of smaller RVs seems to be tolerated. I see the same RVs parked there every time I take the back route home from Costco. They aren't far from one of the major charities, whose name escapes me at the moment. I suspect the city's attitude is that tolerating an RV is preferable to another homeless encampment under one of the bridges.

I've been on a few bases that have plenty of extra room for a good size RV park. Maybe something could be set up where a base lets the vets with on base privileges (I think 30% VA rating) park free of charge, and maybe put some of them to work around the base. I'm not big on the logistics, just a thought that someone might be able to run with.

That sounds like a great idea, but I bet it would take an act of Congress to implement.

Wow ease up on homeless Vets.
Homeless doesn't mean stupid, incompetent, mentally deficient, incapable of having a driver's license, or providing upkeep for a MH. Doesn't mean they don't have money either.
