This organization is totally different from the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust which supports disabled veterans and has received a four star rating from Charity Navigator. I wonder is some people contributed to the "phony" organization you mentioned thinking it was the DAV Charitable Service Trust

Yes.. DVNF, not DAV... Please correct the title.

However, you know this is just a fund raising shell game for politics... right?

Unfortunately I cannot edit (I wish that feature were there)

So, moderator/administrator, could you change the DAV in the title to DV?

Thanks.

yes please do not confuse the bad guys with the good guys, many entities start up using bit and pieces of known goods and then use that to trap folks into giving up money for what they beleive is a good guy

GOOD GUYS
Disabled American Veterans

please someone change the post title to reflect correctly

Title must have been changed it reads correctly now. I read about that scum-bag organization some years ago and have always tried to keep the names straight since.

I would like to thank the administrators/moderators for correcting the title as I had asked. (And others, apparently) The post was temporarily pulled when it was reported by someone. I have no problem with my posts being pulled when they are inappropriate. I just need to be notified so as to not make the same mistake twice. It would be nice to have a follow up when it is corrected or deemed to be totally inappropriate. Again, thanks.

I am a Member for Life Disabled American Veteran (DAV). I am a Disabled American Veteran. Please trust me when I say that the "A" in the original title was a slip from so many years using the term. It is not my intent to belittle any good, quality organization that truly supports our troops.

Please also know that there are "people," for lack of a better word for them, that take advantage of society. They really do not differentiate between any group, they are just greedy. Before you give to ANY charitable organization please confirm that they also have your "heart" in mind, and give accordingly.

If you received a packet in the mail with "items" included, you DO NOT have to send them money, and you DO NOT have to return the items. According to postal regulations you are not required to pay for goods that you did not solicit or order. I can give you a true life account of an incident that happened to me many years ago if you ask.

God bless our troops, and give generously to the DAV, or charity of your choice.

There are lots of Goof Ball orginazitions out there. As veterans it is up to us to protect our friends from them. And they are not just using veterans, but using our police officers and fire fighters too. They make money off of others good names. We should be doing everything in our power to expose them and prevent them from ruining our good orginations! Put them out of business now.

P.s. I always ask any phone solicitor how much percentage goes to the administration. I think 5 percent or less is acceptable, for me. Fifteen percent seems to be an acceptable figure on a national average, but it's to rich for my blood when there are so many charitable organizations that operated at 5 percent or less and do a good job.

Wayne, I have a question. Today I watched television adds(dishnetwork) about the "National Veterans Foundation" and homeless veterans in LA. I never heard of them prior to today. Do you have any information about them?
