Has anyone stayed at El Centro NAF Campground? If so, what did you think of it? Any suggestions about seeing the area?

Check out the reviews.
Military Campgrounds

We stayed but only for overnight. It was adequate for our needs. We stayed in a 40' MH towing.

NAF El Centro, CA - Winter home of the Blue Angles

We stayed there during the months of Dec & Jan once. We called late and had to take sites in what they call overflow. Which was a paved parking lot backed up to a ball field. But it was a FHU with 30 amps. Close side to side parking but very convenient to a wide range of the base amenities. We could walk to the bowling alley, golf driving range, chow hall, and fitness center. There is a cyber center in the exchange area and library and movie hall. During the early months of winter the RV Park population is larger than the base population and is catered to in every way. Right after Christmas the Blue Angles start showing up and are into full compliment by years end. They practice almost every day and their aerial expertise becomes a common topic and is watched by all. You get used to the noise after a week or two.

The auto hobby shop has two stalls large enough for 45 footers and reservations are needed to get in there for servicing. Tours to the surrounding areas are run out of the MWR office and Gear issue area. Huge selection of recreation equipment available for check-out.

Retirees and their guests can eat any and all meals in the mess hall seven days a week. Reservations are required for holidays and special events.
There are a few golf courses near by. Some are at large civilian RV Parks but will allow RVers from El Centro to use their course and no extra fees are assessed.

Reservations for the RV Park are needed for long term. Sites for overnighters are always available for the short term but call ahead to make sure one is open for you.
