Famcamps in Texas and Mississippi

I have reservations at Corpus Christi NAS for 2 weeks in July and another reservation at Gulfport NCB (Shields RV) for 1 month in Sept. I have never stayed at either one of these. Just looking for some feedback from someone here that might have stayed one or the other. Thanks in advance for any input.

Have stayed at NASCC famcamp many Dec-Jan times. They have been allowing civilians in park for some time now. The weekends are very hard to put up with, kids, parties, loud etc.

If there is high wind off the bay the whole park is cover by salt water spray. A camper showed me a completely rusted bicycle that was only one month old.

If our kids didn't live there would not use the famcamp or go to CC. Nothin there i want to see.

Gulfport is a whole better story.
By the way there both named Shields famcamps.

Thanks for the heads up on Corpus NAS. I do have reservations and don`t want to cancel so I think we can live with the weekend. I am glad you said Gulfport NCB was better because we stay there for a month. I am sure that it will be full because it will during Cruisin The Coast so we are prepaired for that. The only thing that I am not sure about. Is that I have a 38 foot MH and pull a 24 foot enclosed trailer . They told me that I could not get the trailer into the campground and I could park at the Base storage lot which is OK with me. My question is , do you know where the storage lot is located and how far it is from the campground?

Thanks Ronnie Tucker USMC

Can't help you with Gulfport storage location. Do recall seeing boat trailers/RVs parked close to NASCC outdoor rec office which is in eye shot of famcamp.
Call office. I use google maps sat view to check out places before i go. Might help.
Enjoy famcampin, we do !
