Finally

Back in 2010 the VA recognized Ischemic Heart disease as an effect of Agent Orange.

I had had two heart attacks, two stents, two open chest surgeries. VA gave me a 10% disability. I appealed of course, had 3 more minor heart attacks and finally yesterday they sent me a letter granting 100%.

Really exciting. Now I can use the Military CG's.

My question is; in general, are the military CG's worth visiting. They seem to be located in a lot of good places to visit.

Are these CG's busy and generally requiring reservations?

Hopefully this current snow forecast will be the end of winter and by the middle of March I can dewinterize and hit the road to maybe Florida.

Keith

Military campgrounds

Keith,
Yes......military campgrounds are worth visiting. A lot depends on where you travel, and what you expect. Many very nice and well run.......a few not so nice or well run. Mostly they are good, secure places to spend time, and be close to military facilities. There are a couple of good web sites with a lot of information regarding those campgrounds..........travel safely........Jim

There is an app for that (military CG's). Do a search for Allstays, then you will see the one for "C-RV Military". I know that have it for iOS since I have it, not sure about android.

Here's the best website for military campground:

U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks - Home

Note when you get there, click "Military Facilities Info". Don't scroll down and it will go to a page state by state. Are they good...some are great, some are average, and some of them are passable.

here's the one's I've stayed at that were great:
Dams Neck NAS - Virginia Beach Charleston Joint Base
Sea Mist - Camp Lejune (Onslow Beach) Osprey Cove - Mayport NAS, Jacksonville FL
Ellsworth AFB - for the Black Hills SD area McConnell AFB - Wichita KS
Kirkland AFB - Albaquerque NM Florida panhandle bases and NAS - all OK
Gulfport NAS (SeaBee Museum) New Orleans Joint Reserve Base
Ft Belvoir - Nice but expensive
Air Force Academy - best golf in DOD for $22 walking

Planned this summer:
Fiddler's Cove - San Diego Travis AFB CA
Boise ID Mountain Home
Whidbey NAS - Olympic Peninsula WA

As a general statement, I've found the NAS more appealing and moderately priced, except CA where higher priced. You'd be best served to get a windshield sticker for your vehicles from someplace that still issues as some bases still require (NASs).
