Anybody been there? How is it? I know there are a couple others, but this is very close to my son's home in Puyllup. How crowded does it get? We should be there the second week of August. I will call from Cottage Grove, OR to make reservations, but would like to know the chances. Also, how about around Glacier NP and Yellowstone NP? Anything good there? We're traveling to NH to see my parents as I will be going on dialysis very soon.

I am heading there now. Have reservations for Aug 1-Aug 14. When we knew we were going to be at a wedding in the area we called for reservations. They said they would not accept any before 3 months of needed date. Sounded as tho they stay full during the summer. Doesn't hurt to call tho as there might be a cancellation.
Good luck,
DICK

We're probably look at being there on Aug. 11 thru the 13. As I'm not sure of the actual date, I will have to call earlier in the week to see if they have space. Thanks for the info.

Went to your web site...hated to hear about Effingham... We had gone to Germany two years ago and caught a military hop to Wright-Patterson from Germany. We rented a car to drive back to CA. I was more tired than I thought. The DW went to sleep in the back seat and it was late at night and a straight road. I fell asleep at the wheel and plowed into the back of a tractor-trailer. The car was totaled and the cop took us to a local motel where we spend a couple of days. We took the bus to St. Louis and rented another car. We don't like Effingham (there's also an Effingham in NH next to the town where is was raised).

Anyway, when (if) we're at Fort Lewis, we'll see if you're still there and say howdy.

Yeah, Effingham has not been too lucky for us the last couple of years, BUT, it is my wife's hometown.

If you do get to Ft. Lewis definetly look us up.

I worked as the MWR building maintence guy for 18 years so I am well aware of the facility. It's a nice place, pretty and plenty of room. My suggestion tho is not to purchase anything for the NWAC store including propane. They are about 25 to 50% higher than the off post stores. I complained about the prices while I worked there and was told basicaslly by a manager that if I didn't like the pricing, I should buy somwhere else.I did take that advice. It was cheaped to drive to Camping World in Fife.

Ft Lewis is a nice park, I just visit, since we live 30 miles away. If its full, McChord AFB and Camp Murray also have parks and they are within 10 miles of each other.
