I'm 30% and got a free National park pass, In Washington state I also can camp at any state park free. State also reduces fishing license to a couple of bucks.
Suggest you check your state park office to see what you can get.

I know there are many out there, these are the ones I know about, 1 - America The Beautiful Access pass good for any VA rating(even 0%) good for 50% in most federal campgrounds, 2 - Oregon has a pass for free camping does not matter where you reside, 3 - Wa has a free camping pass for Vets based on 30% rating if you are a resident of the State 4 - Arkansas 50% discount for Vets rated at 100% and are state residents. There are many more.

A free lifetime entrance pass to the National Parks is available to those that are blind or permanently disabled. According to the website you go to any National Park service facility that charges an entrance fee and show proof of medically determined disability and eligibility for receiving benefits under federal law and you receive your "Golden Access Passport" free of charge.
According to the site - Documentation includes: a statement by a licensed physician, document issued by a Federal Agency such as the VA, SS Disability Income or Supplemental Security Income, or a document issued by a State Agency as a vocational agency.

If you are a Florida resident and 100 percent disabled, you can get a lifetime pass good for free admission for you and those in your vehicle to any state park. You also get 50 percent off camping fees.

The 214 does not show disability, just service. My husband had to provide paperwork from the VA with his % of disability to get the National Park Pass for free. Since I'm still on active duty I cant prove my disability until retirement.

toadswife is right. It has to be the letter from the VA stating the % of disability. In Texas the list of services you get for free or discounted is long. I have my disabled vet tags on my MH. Cost for registering it is a whopping $3.00 per year. My hunting/fishing license is free. I do not pay property taxes. Daily use fees at state parks is free. If I remember right all of this and probably more starts at the 50% level of disability rating.

One correction the DD214 can show a medical discharge -in this case the award level would be indicated by a PEB board finding(this would be done prior to exiting the service) this is a completely seperate finding from the VA and has no bases with the VA but is very important to your military status and military pay.

I got my pass from the gate guard at Yosemite National Park. I just showed them my Handicapped placard. They didn't even ask to see my "ID" they just took the number off of my handicapped placard and my license . plate. They asked to see the registration for the RV, and they asked if I had any paper work on my placard, of course it was in the pick up at home. They wrote down the numbers on their paperwork and hnded me the pass.

I did up a spreadsheet so I could keep it in order of which state's parks offers discounts to vets. It also has the websites for the different states. Not sure how to add the spreadsheet on here or just have people leave a msg and I can email it to them if they want it.
FYI - Oregon and Florida - all they require is some info and you get their pass. Oregon's last 5 yrs. Florida's cost $1 to help with the mailing costs and it's a lifetime pass.
Most other states either do not charge a fee to get into them or the "free" pass is for the resident of that particular state.
