Heading out west next month, June and I'm considering overnight stays at Ft Bliss and Davis-Monthan AFB family camps. I realize these parks are usually full during the winter months, but does anyone know if during the summer months FHU spaces are readily available. I would hate to show up at 5 pm and no spots available.

Agave Gulch FamCamp
does not accept reservations, which means during busy times(winter), 1-2 nights in overflow. During warm weather a site is usually available.
I've not stayed at Ft. Bliss.

Many times you can contact them and see what the availability is. Example: When we called they said half the sites were empty. It was not peak season. I would think they could give you an idea as to availability.

Fort Bliss was full even in the off season. Go figure.

Where are you coming from. If you are near the San Antonio area, don't overlook Fort Sam Houston RV park. Great sites, close to everything.

You should be ok this time of year at both. As indicated already, D-M has lots of overflow (even in busy time most folks don't spend more than a few night waiting in overflow). I second the Ft Sam suggestion. If you stay in all three you will have experienced three of the best military rv parks! We normally call a few hours before arrival to check availability.

t'is the season for travel. If you know what your planned dates are and can stick to a schedule, call now to see if you can make reservations at those famcamps that accept them.

The RV Park at Fort Bliss is a first come first serve site with very few exceptions, none of which will apply to the casual traveler. We stay there often. Plan on getting there early and start calling about 11:00 hours. It's one of the best military RV parks with everything so it's very popular. There is no overflow. They are adding more sites this year.
