Gen. James Mattis to be next CMC

CMC = Commandant of the Marine Corps

Next Commandant of the Marine Corps

Yeah! Bring it on, bring it back.

Shucks! Just wanted it to be true.

Don't get me wrong. Gen Amos is doing a fine job, but should he desire to give it up early, the choice of Mattis would be a great one.

Wouldn't it be nice to have someone say "No" to ....well, it would be nice.

looking at the article, I was taken by the tattoos on his arms. I was thinking that in general, tats need to be covered up. Photoshopped?

The duffelblog is the military version of "The Onion". They have have a lot of funny (IMHO) stories there, but the best entertainment is to read the comments from people who don't realize that it is a satire website. The GEN Mathis story is fairly tame compared to some.

This is most likely a spoof the other bit is why is this on this board at all isn't this about RV'n? Now if the next CUSMC were a well known RV'r and or encouraged his troops to enjoy the activity I could see a link other-wise what the ???

Wayne,

If you want another good one, check out www.terminallance.com. Funny stuff. Some of it you really have to be a Marine to get it.

If I could edit it I would appease the appeasers and add a caveat at the end something like this.

Gen. Mattis is contemplating purchasing an RV..

Does that help in any way.

Thanks.

Hey moderators or admins, lock the thread or just delete it is fine with me. That should take care of concerns.

I just had a brain......., well a thought.

The military is the biggest camping unit in the world. I remember sleeping under the stars, living in bunkers, sometimes in trenches and also tents. Many times we made do with what we had, cut our firewood when we could, cooked over open fires. etc.

So, just about everything posted in the Military/Veteran thread is camping related. Oh, and we sometimes had wheels to get us there, sometimes we walked. Much of my time was before "RV" was a house word.
