Use your existing USAA account to rapidly verify your military status. This is the fastest and most popular verification*with ID.me other that that I would not disclose my personal information.. especially my military ID number..

Exactly what site did you go to? Haven't ran into it yet?

Businesses which offer military discounts (like Lowes) are no longer accepting military ID's and you need to set up a ID.me account, then you can register with any of the businesses you want and only have to give them your telephone number at checkout.

My local Lowes no longer just uses phone number after registering. They also want to see the card because too many folks were "sharing" and non-vets were getting the discounts.

Very strange they asked for photo ID. I went on the CA VA website to request a veteran status ID and after verifying my service it linked me to the ID.me site for registration. All verification was done by and through the VA and now I have the virtual card through ID.me Wallet for anything that need's it. (This was a few years ago...)

I have a VA.Gov 'MyHealtheVet' account

When I go to the Log In page I can use the VA/Gov OR one of 2 other 'secure VA Partners' to log in
DS Logon OR ID.Me

I haven't bothered checking out either cause I would need to register.
But both options are listed on the VA.gov website

Do you have the current VA ID card "without" your SS # on it ? If you do, why is that a problem. Though that's not a requirement according to their website.

To verify your military service and access exclusive deals and discounts on ID.me, follow these steps:
1) Sign up or sign in to your ID.me account.
2) Click on "Add ID" from the dashboard page.
3) Select "Troop ID" from the list of Verification options.
4) Choose a verification option that suits you.

Sounds like you need to take this up with the Corporation involved with this matter. They're the only ones that can fix this. Otherwise do like I do and tell them to get bent and take your business elsewhere.

Just as recently as yesterday I used Lowes. I'm in their system. I have an APP called Stocard that all my discount cards are in. I open it, tap on Lowes, show them the scan code and they scan it..all discounts appllied.

Until today I never heard of I.D.Me.

I have been a member of ID me for over 3 years. I get both the law enforcement/first responder discount and the military discount. Its 100 percent legit service that verifies your information for a [Mod Edit] ton of companies that offer discounts. For example, we were recently car shopping and both ford and gm use them to give you your discount code. I have never had a problem with them.
