Wayne, these are the ones they caught. How many got through? Seems they weren't too worried about that number "8" looking so obviously fake.

Using this scam.. I seriously doubt many have gotten through.. Checking license plates is very easy and a routine part of the border crossing.. I know on the TV shows to run a plate takes time.. I mean you hear Reed call in DMV on Nora Ida Charlie 3-4-7 and the dispatcher acknowledges the transmissing and receipt of querry. Then a couple minutes later calls them back with the data.
How I did it, more often than not,, The trooper called in the plate, and I acknowledged with the information since by the time he released the mic button it was already on my screen.
Yes, it's that fast.
So, the camera sees the plate as you pull up to the booth.. The agent types in the plate and has your vehicle reg, on screen before he says "Anything to declare"

Saw that news article. Rather silly. I especially like the part, that ALL EIGHT dudes in the back were wearing US Marine uniforms with the name "Perez".
Hola. I am Sgt. Perez. This is my cousin, Sgt. Perez. That's my brother, Sgt. Perez. Over there, that's my uncle, Sgt. Perez. And then we have my 2nd cousin, Sgt. Perez.

Judging by the looks (high cost) of the transport vehicle, I would say they have been getting away with it for quite some time. If not by this method then definitely another.
