I don't have any tattoos, but I did buy a diamond engagement ring once and I didn't even have a girlfriend. Those salesmen on court st in Jacksonville were damned good.

Now that is funny. So you didn't have a girlfriend but you did stay at a holiday inn (with one?) last night....

I have a US Navy tat, but it's hard to read. Aging a little and fading (1966), but I do have an ID and love getting 10% at Lowes...

The other day I was asked for a photo ID while using my credit card... and thats a good thing but.... when I pulled out my VA Card the cashier said, "no, it has to be a drivers license" I was shocked and told her, anyone can get a drivers license. To get this card you had to be willing to give your life for your country.

I've had one experience at at a H.Depot that refused my VA Card stating : "it's not an approved ID for a Veteran, anyone can get it". I left a cart full of lumber, plywood etc. and went to Lowes.
Recently I took advantage of Verizon Wireless "Government Employees" discount. I presented my VA card at a Corp. Store and now enjoy a 15% discount on my plan.

Texas Roadhouse offers 30% off.

Google military discounts for all of them.

Some states (Texas just started) are issuing drivers license with "Veteran" on the card. You might want to check to see if your state is doing so.
