Maybe I'm wrong, but I really think that the national media's reporting of Rep. Giffords shooting, although it was bad, has been overblown. I think this because the same week, there were nine soldiers and Marines killed in combat. And this week when she was transferred to Texas with all the coverage, eighteen more American servicemen died in combat. The only place these combat deaths were reported, other than in hometowns, was at the end of ABC's This Weekend in their 'In Memoriam' segment. And how many more of our servicemen and women have suffered trumatic injuries? The reporting on both sides, liberal and conservative, is just pathetic. My opinion may not mean much, but it's still my opinion. Right now we veterans are about 10 per cent of the population. And only 1 per cent of our population is in uniform. It's no wonder that the politicians and leaders here have no care for past and present sacrifices. And no media is reporting them.

I wonder if the wounded get as much care as our paid Rep's?

I'm with you, a shooting is a shooting, no matter whether you are rich, poor, or a politician. I remember one politician saying something like "they are paid to get shot at why should they expect more". I can remember when the news actually reported news. Sadly that is history.

I apologize for crossing the political line here but IMO how the media reports tragic and or negative news is in direct relationship to who the C-I-C is.
