Military campgrounds near new orleans

The DW and I will be going to the DAV national convention which is being held in N.O. this year,,are there any nearby military campgrounds in the area? Thanks Tom

Check out U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks it lists all and is a great source for any retired/active personnel.

There used to be a small area behind the Navy Lodge. I'm not sure if Katrina wiped it out or not. Check with the Navy Lodge.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but there is a GREAT RV park near the French Quarter. In fact it is called the French Quarter RV Park. It is 6 blocks from bourbon street. About 3 blocks to Canal st where you could catch street car to the Convention.
It is a bit pricey, and some people don't like being so close to the highway as it is a bit noisy, but after drinking a bottle of hearing loss, and crawling back to the RV park from Bourbon St. I slept like quite well. This was my frist major trip with the RV and I don't have a Toad, so being close to night life and public transportation was important. A car in N.O is a liability. Good luck.
