As a former Air Force public affairs NCO, I ran across this gem when I was active duty, and it was posted on our alumni forum again this week. I think that some of you might enjoy it:

The Colonel, to his Executive Officer:
"Tomorrow, at approximately 2000 hours, Halley's Comet will
be visible in the battalion area, an event that happens once
every 75 years. Have the men fall out in the battalion area in
BDU's, and I will explain this rare phenomenon to them. In
case of rain, we will not be able to see anything, so assemble
the men in the theater, and I will show them films on it."

The Executive Officer, to the Company Commander:
"By order of the Colonel, tomorrow at 2000 hours, Halley's
Comet will appear above the battalion area. If it rains, fall
the men out in BDU's, then march them to the theater, where
this rare phenomenon will take place, something that occurs
only once every 75 years."

The Company Commander, to the Lieutenant:
"By order of the Colonel in BDU's, at 2000 hours tomorrow,
the phenomenal Halley's Comet will appear in the theater.
In case of rain in the battalion area, the Colonel will give
another order, something that occurs once every 75 years."

The Lieutenant, to the Sergeant:
"Tomorrow at 2000 hours, the Colonel will appear in the
theater with Halley's Comet, something that happens every
75 years. If it rains, the Colonel will order the comet into
the battalion area."

The Sergeant, to his squad:
"Arright, meatheads, listen up! When it rains tomorrow at
2000 hours, the phenomenal 75 year old General Halley,
accompanied by the Colonel, will drive his Comet through
the battalion area in BDU's."

The Legend of Halley's Comet" was taken from Air Force
Handbook 37-137, "The Tongue and Quill," 31 August 1994.

Sailors would have fallen out on the fan tail to see Bill Haley and the Comets and wondered how the heck it was arranged for them to be there at 2000 hours. Lots of guys would have brought cameras and a couple would have brought tape recorders to steal the music.

God bless our troops....

Reminds me of my grade school, with all 8 grades in one room. The teacher told one student something, which was whispered to the next one. That continued until the last student, who stood in front of the blackboard and repeated what they were told. It usually bore no resemblance to what the teacher said.
We never had that problem in the Army, we were all squared away.
Now if you believe that_Bạn có thực sự sai lầm! .
