I know many of you have seen this or some form of it, but for the most complete listing of discounts for the military, active and retired, go to:

Thanks for that compilation of stores. I make it a point to ask wherever I'm purchasing something if they offer a military discount. Most that do not, respond by calling a manager to confirm their response and suggest to their manager it might be a good idea. Who know, I just might sway a store to begin offering military discounts.

I've never been refused. If disabled, show your VA Medical card along with the ID .. I always get at least 10% even if the manager has to do an override.

I suppose I have a different view on this policy. I will accept a discount IF it is posted where EVERYONE can see it.

Being a disabled vet, I have no desire to be "accomadated to" by a company, person, or community , unless they tell everyone of their choices.

I did not ask them BEFORE I went if I would get it , and I sure aint gonna ask for it after the fact.

Having said that, I REALLY appreciate Lowes, Home Depot and Golden Corrall, who PLAINLY STATE to the world their discounts for our service.

No offense meant to anyone, just my view on it.

If you dont ask, how do you know the policy? Sure, some companies announce it to the various Vet groups, but most who do have the same policy, dont.. especially if they are more local/regional companies. Even a lot of 'mom & pops' do the same and dont advertise it..

There is no shame in asking..
