What would be a good place to visit in the vicinity of Williamsburg, VA in reagrds to a military history museum?
I have brochure for Virginia War Museum and that looks interesting.
During the National Rally; on Wednesday we have a coach reserved to bring 55 pax to Colonial Williamsburg for the day. Thursday is going to be an open travel day and I'm looking to put together a small group to visit local military museums.
... any ideas guys?

If you are staying in Williamsburg, I suggest that you go down the Colonial Parkway to Yorktown.
THe ride along the York river is beautiful and easy. Yorktown is the center of the Yorktown Museusm of the surrender of the British at the end of the revolution. A great visitor center gives a interesting history of the war and the battle of Yorktown. The park is most informative.
Enjoy.

Also, if you travel down to Newportnews, VA. Do not miss the Mariners Museum at the Route 17 bridge over the James River. Great naval history, and many, many interesting exhibts. Go visit the Newportnews ship yard in downtown Newportnews. This is where all the huge aircraft carriers have been built.

JB, I'm up in Urbanna at Bethpage. I'm working on things to do from our National Rally this last week in September.
This is just what I was looking to do for those guys that would want to do this trip. Would love to see the shipyard especially if there is some type of exhibit or museum there.
