Wow! What a gem of a place to stop for awhile. Only about 60 miles from San Fran, and a good jumping off spot for other areas.

We arrived today to find the sites near level, wide, and sufficient. Only Electric and water, but the dump station is only a short ways from the sites. The Galley is only a short distance and you would not believe the good quality of the food. We have eaten at many a fine restaurant, the food at this Galley is as fine a quality as can be found in any restaurant. And the price of $4.40 per person cannot be equaled.

Here is the kicker. Only 6 RV sites, so make your reservations early.

That really is a beautiful area. Especially the cool breeze and fog.
Is the CG DOD only or open to public?
Been to S.F. numerous time and really enjoyed it. Want to go with family alot.
But have heard downtown has gone downhill some. Did a Google Earth drive across the Bridge recently, still looked the same. Enjoy your time there, wish I was.
Son wanted to go to Legoland in San Jose, then to SF, but DW wants to go to Boston to visit broinlaw. Maybe next summer.
Enjoy.

KC

Wayne, I'm going to have to check that one out. I went to a two room school house not far from there a while back. We use to try to get to school first so we could ring the bell.

KC, it's only for those who have proper ID (military/dod/etc) But I can get a guest in if you want to have dinner! I'll even let you splurge and pay.

Joe, there is no cool breeze. It is a COLD wind. DW said this morning when she got up it was 44 degrees out. When I pulled myself out of the warm covers around 0800 it was 60, but I think the thermometer remote had some sunshine on it. Driving around the area about 60 miles out and around was in the low to mid 50's. Where the heck is summer when you want it!
