A short article on legislation extending AO territory to all of Thailand.

Another AO hidden story is the contaminated Ranch Hand spray aircraft were brought back To U.S. and used by AG units after mission shut down in Nam.
Good news was 1200 Ranch Hand personnel were involved in an USAF AO study after the war and there was nearly nill effects of exposure. This was before VA rated it. So who can you believe.

I was on a Peninsula in the Chesapeake Bay at a radio transmitter site surrounded by water. I remember they used to spray something all around the shore to kill all the Lilly pads, etc.
That was from 1964 to 1967. We were across the Severn river from the Naval Academy.
For you guys that were at the Naval Academy those big radio towers you saw is where I worked fixing the transmitters.

Yes they tested, stored, and used Agent Orange at many bases in the U.S. If you go to va.gov you can find the list of bases and the time frame that it was used on that base.

I went to that link and it didn't mention the base I was stationed on so apparently they didn't use it there.
Thank you Kind Sir!

Added information; My brother was in the 54th Weather Recon Squadron stationed on Guam then sent to Thailand. Time frame 1966-1968.

Agent orange in Thailand. If one has prostate cancer and was in security police or civil engineering in Thailand it is assumed the cancer was caused by your service. There is a bill , don’t know status, that would make bladder cancer also assumed to be service connected. I get a disability because of prostate cancer , but not for bladder cancer.

It was not on his DD 214 because his unit was not suppose to be operating out of Thailand at that time.

Why file a claim

As a disabled vet who is also financially secure, I will say what the DAV counselor told me when I filed right after retirement.
At some point you might need medication or treatment for a service connected condition. If it is in your records, then you can at least receive that, whether you get a disability rating or not.
After watching a friend’s father suffer with agent orange exposure from his service in Thailand and Laos, I can tell you that you are in for a struggle with the VA. There are many groups for veterans who fought this secret war and they might have group orders or other paperwork that might help establish service in those locations. In this case Google is your ally. Good luck to everyone trying to get recognition for this, as it is a horrible thing our government did to soldiers and airmen.

YES, THAILAND is and has been an Agent orange spot. I know because I R one. Here is a link to a few Agent Orange website sites. http://war-stories.com
When I went to the VA I was not looking to even address what I did not know about at the time an agent Orange Disability. Because MY DD-214 said I was in the country I had to go for Agent Orange TESTING, before doctors and testing. It took about a year and this was my first go at the process. Some GI's make three or four runs at getting Agent Orange DIsability. As for myself on my first run through I was given disability for Agent Orange and I did not know I was even eligible. The site above shows info and web links to help learn more.

His Rd 214 might state that he was stationed in IndoChina as was the case of most of the USAF troops so check that out also you can use buddy letters, training records and work site locations..Never give up because it is the usual stall be that some go through.
