We are from the NW where the VA medical is excellent, at least from our experience. We are heading to Yuma for the winter to visit friends and wonder what the VA clinic is like there? If I can find a part time job there we may stay longer if my husband could transfer his medical there. He is 63 and has Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease. We were in Pahrump,NV when diagnosed but the VA there and in Vegas was not equipped for AD - at least our experience with the neurologist so we came back to the Portland area.

Dont know if I will help. I was stationed in Yuma and loved it. I would still be there if there was my type work after I was discharged. Anyway, suggest contacting the right officer at the base (MCAS) for help. There is nice parks there, or was, but this time of year, snowbirds probably have it full up. Anyway maybe chamber of commerce? Goodd Luck
