VFW post campgrounds

I am looking for a list of VFW posts that allow dry camping or have hookups for member use. The list I have is from Gypsy Journal and it has less than 100 listings. I would think there are more posts than 100 that are RV friendly.

If you ever ever go to Oak Harbor WA, there is a very nice post there that has 15 sites with water, electric and an onsite dump. Very Nice people and a great place to stay while exploring some pretty country and unusual places.

You just need to be a VFW member. And, that is the type of list I am looking for, since that is my category.

I was a member many years ago but all I got were solicitations for money, so I dropped out.

Yeah, they are not shy about asking for money. But, ten days at $10/day sure beats 10 days at $45/day. I saved enough to send them a dollar or two.

Thank you for trying, but it appears that the campgrounds are not open to veterans, unless 100% disabled. It seems they are for acive duty personell, with a few exceptions. (DOD--retired--onbase contractors)

The 100 RV VFW posts doesn't surprise me. My husband's post is kind of a night club/restaurant with a big building and parking lot. One could use it like a Cracker Barrel and overnight and eat, but I have not seen anyone doing that.

The one near my work has a small building, small parking lot, but a really nice park with swings and slides for their VFW families, so that is the direction they have chosen to focus upon.

I wish more would think full hook-ups are a good investment , but they probably need membership that is into RV'ing, or, think it is a way to raise money for the post.

I am sure you already know about this site but thought I'd post just to be sure: U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks
