Walgreens contract with TRICARE expired

I received this email today:

The expiration of the retail pharmacy contract between Express Scripts, Inc (ESI) and the Walgreens pharmacy chain means Walgreens is no longer a TRICARE pharmacy network provider as of Jan 1, 2012.

Thanks Ray for the update info on the TC Rx service. I'm in the process of changing back to Tricare health service from the VA due to some unhappiness with VA and was only aware of the Walgreen changes which I'd never used. I'd used the mail order ESI and/or the base pharmacy when using TC previously. Anyway, I've copied the links you provided to file, so thanks again for your posting.

This is not really new News. Walgreens has been on a extension for almost a year anyway. We can still use Wal Mart/CVS/Rite Aid/ Most home town Phamacies ect. I chose a while back not to use Walgreens because of their firing of a pharmacist for taking matters into his own hands and quite possibly saving the lives of his staff. Good riddance
