Was 10 years old. Carried the newspaper home each day, and each day showed troops in Vietnam. (I was certain I'd be going over there).

Draft ended, and I didn't join up. But have tremendous respect and appreciation for those who did.

I have not seen this many dinosaurs since visiting the Field Museum of Natural History.

My story, too.

The requirement to register for selective service expired before my deadline to register so I never did. Withdrawal from SE Asia occurred shortly after.

I was certain I'd be drafted had the war continued.

Providence has interesting ways of showing us things - in college my statistics professor was one of the academicians that proved the draft lottery system was biased, and helped design the system that used the "bingo cage" method of selecting numbers to eliminate selection bias.

My thanks and gratitude to all those who served or are now serving.

I was in Vietnam in a jungle along the Cambodian border wondering, "How [moderator edit] did I get to be infantry?"

When I was getting ready to deploy to the Central Highlands I was trying to think of ways to escape to Cambodia Realized that probably wasn't a viable option, survived, thankful, prayer for those who didn't. Glad you made it.

Heading east passing by Lincoln, NE toward New York from Cali in my 68 Shelby Mustang. Chasing a rumor called “Woodstock.”
