Where were you 50 years ago today?

Oh a cold damp evening I got off a bus at navy boot camp in San Diego. When I looked at the old building and realized what I had done I wanted to get back on. Four years in the service was the best thing I could have done for myself. It is grow up or else. Very few people do I tell about some of the places I went and things we did, as they would think I was an old man making up stories.

In school in Chase Kansas. 3rd grade. Teacher came in one day crying and said the president died. Best democrat that ever lived. Especially since then!
