Thanks Jack ...

As an old blue jacket , I agree ..

Still get chills down my spine and nothing burns me more than standing tall , while others show disrespect by talking and all the other mess they do ....

It would have been great if those of us that served in Nam had been shown the same respect and gratitude. And no, I'm not bitter

During the sixties and early seventies when we returned home from Nam alot were greeted with shame and never should have been. Being 20 years old at the time wondering why we were over there, then it sinks in believing we're doing a job to protect our freedom here. Our service people have alot on their plate, God bless them all.

Thank you Jack for posting the link. It brought tears to my eyes and stirred a tremble from the bottom of my stomach to the hairs on my head. This afternoon the local news ran a story about a man who suffered severe head trauma in Iraq plus PTS who was caring for his father who lost a leg in Vietnam. That also caused high emotions to shake me.

My youngest daughter is in Iraq now. Eight months left on this tour. We are taking care of the grandaughter until her mother returns. Wouldn't take the world for the experience with the grandaughter. We pray that Lori will be safe in the hands of the Good Lord.

I have the greatest respect for everyone that serves in our military.

We pray that your daughter stays safe over there.

Our service men and women diserve the greatest respect for fighting for what this company stands for. It was our Vietnam soldiers that were treated with no respect when they returned. They were there fighting for our country as ordered.

Disgraceful for what happend. Good post Jack

Inscribed in granite at the Vietnam Memorial outside the State Capitol in Salt Lake City, "For those who fought for it, FREEDOM has a flavor the protected will never know."

To all my brothers and sisters who served in VietNam, WELCOME HOME! Never allow the politicians to do again to others what they did to us!

Amen brother. I believe that in someways, they are worst today than ever. Today everything is justified as "Freedom of Speech". What happened to respect and honor?
When I returned from the the Tonkin Gulf in 1971, I was told not to where my uniform at the San Francisco International airport because of protesters.
