Navy 75-81, USS Memphis SSN-691, fast attack submarine.
Last month I attended the Memphis' decommissioning in CT. A bittersweet moment, but I had the honor to walk her decks one last time and connected up with many great people that I hadn't seen it 30 years.

U.S. Navy..... Second generation.... Dad was USN in WW2 South Pacific theater. In on five invasions... He saw a lot of action....
I was in the Navy from 58 till 62. Served aboard the USS North Hampton CLC1 for about 24 +/- months. Crossed the ''pond'' (Atlantic ocean) several times. The most ''action'' I saw was two hookers knife fighting in a bar in Palma. I did a lot of ''under cover'' work over there with sometimes questionable female locals for a usually ''negotiated fee'' for a litany of ''selected'' activities, preformed during a limited span of time, but I better not write about that 'cause I would get scolded and edited.....lol....

I greatly revere you guys that gave a big hunk of your life in service of this country. I look up to you and honor you for your service. You are the ones I am referring to when I say ''God bless our vets'' ..... It is NOT FOR MYSELF. I did nothing but I am so proud to have served with great shipmates, including Marines.....

Nuff said for now.... God bless our troops and keep them safe .....
