I'm staying at Riverside Campground and RV Resort in Sevierville, TN...Just watched a man walking his two big dogs, letting them do their "business." After they finished he just walked off and left it... I asked him if he "forgot something" and he looked kind of sheepish and said that he forgot his bag... For two days now I've had to clean up a pile of **** and it burns my butt to have to clean up after other people's pets. Now I like dogs as well as the next person, but I would never let my pet use other people's campsite for a toilet.

I know that there are no bad pets, just rotten owners and it's a shame that we can't put a leash on some people...and maybe rub their nose in it to teach them that that is bad behavior.

I just hope that this wasn't and iRV2 member...I would like to think that we, as a group, are better than that.

OK, now back to your regular programing...I'm getting off of my "Soap Box" now and getting ready for the "flames"..

We have stayed a a couple of places that offer a discount for turning in people that disobey the rules. I am 100% for turning them in to the office,

We had a neighbor that let his dog go everywhere but his site. The neighbor on the other side of him started to pick up the presents and pile them on his steps....When his wife stepped in the pile on the step one mornig...he had a different attitude about walking the dog. We left the next day and did not get to see how this battle played out.

Do not give up, most dog owners are responsible...a few are not.

Ken

That is upsetting, I confronted a guy that let his dog do his business in front of my motohome and started to walk off. When I confronted him, he told me that he forgot his bags also...well, I asked him to wait and I will get him one, he looked very upset but he did pick it up..good thing I was bigger than him in this case, he was steaming.

There is seldom a CG we stay in that we do not observe this happening at least once while we are there. Does not seem to matter whether it is a st ate park, or a high end CG. Sad thing is it is never going to change. Just alot of very inconsiderate people in this world.

It is certainly disgusting when dog owners don't pick up after their pets. I am always concerned that RV parks will start to ban folks with dogs but I guess there are so many of us with them, they couldn't survive if they enacted bans.

As a dog owner it really burns me to see others not pick up. I carry extra bags so that I can give them to those "who forgot" a bag. Most campgrounds have bags available. Keep one or two in your pocket even if you don't have a dog.

The thing that burned me the most was when I went out and saw a dog's urine on the wheel of my toad. Why anyone would allow their dog to mark their territory on my vehicle is beyond me. Do dog owners lose all sense of perspective when they get a dog? They surely would not have allowed their children to act this way in public. I do appreciate those few dog owners who follow the rules and take their dogs to the dog walk rather than allowing their dogs to urinate wherever the dog feels like it. Sorry to vent, but it is becoming more and more of a problem in campgrounds everywhere. Picking up after the dog is not the same as taking him to the dog walk.

Bad dogs and bad owners of dogs need to share the same pen for a few days.

I see so many owners of pets miss the bag route, and I need help in reminding them without making enemies of the bad camper dog owners. I use the bag and carry a few in case my dog gets confused as to where to go. Makes me sore to have a neighbor camper with lousy habits of pet droppings care. After reminding them, you then wonder what else they plan for your stay here, like they dictate the policy of dog care and I am interfering with their policy.

We have a leased lot at a private campground. We just got a new member of the family a couple of weeks ago. I was out walking her, and was meeting another guy and his two pups. He held out his hand to shake mine, and I had to change the used doggie bag to my left hand to shake his hand. He just smiled and said a quiet thank you.

All campgrounds have baggies available for the asking. When at home, I carry baggies on our walks through our neighborhood; why would I do otherwise at a campground, my temporary home?

This is always a heated subject. The responsible pet owners really resent being lumped in with the irresponsible slobs. I usually have an extra bag to offer. I have be told to mind my own (BLANK) business.

The ones that do not pick up after their pets, are the same ones that use the BBQ grill or the fire pit for their ash/butt dump or a collection point for all of the beer cans.

Everyone just needs to remember that they are not the only one using the camp grounds and need to leave things cleaner than they found it.

Witnessed the same behavior at Kirtland AFB during the balloon festia last month. Some poorly-trained owners just led thier pet outside the MH door to do their business. The RV park maintains a quite pretty grass dog walk there too.
