Canine Lymphoma treatments

Our girl dog Kenzie was diagnosed with Lymphoma a week or so ago. Yesterday she started the first chemotherapy treatment. Her lymph nodes had already shrunk slightly by her own immune system, a good sign. The vet is confident we can treat this and put it into remission but the waiting part is terrible. She looks good this morning and acting about like her normal self refusing to lay outside on the carpet when there is perfectly good dirt, weeds and twigs to roll in She is attached to a leash and in our sight of course.

We are currently at our winter home in the Florida Keys and may extend our stay a couple of days longer than normal so we can get the first month treatment in with the vet here because we like him so much. If you are ever in the middle Keys and need the service of a veterinarian we suggest Dr. Mike Dunn at Keys Animal Hospital in Marathon. Thanks Dr. Mike for making this difficult time for us and Kenzie a little easier.

Prayers to you and the pooch. Friends lost there mini schnauzer 2 years ago to lymphoma. Initially he responded well to the treatments, but they stopped working and he got weaker. I hope all goes well for your dog.

Ken

Mark and Nancy, will be saying prayers for Kenzie and you too. I know what its like to have a very sick dog and the worry that goes with it. Please keep us posted on her progress.

Thanks for the kind words Ken, Brenda and Frank. The funny thing is that you would almost not know anything was wrong with her by just looking. She is a tough little (68lb) lady so we are keeping a positive attitude.

That is so wonderful to hear! I will be watching closely with great support and concern for you and your little girl. Please keep us posted on how she is doing. I am another one of those "dog" people that loves animals and the people that love them.
