We have 3 yorkies that travel with us, however one of them gets car sick no matter what we do. He has sat up front in my DW's lap (not anymore), left out to roam the coach and put in his pet taxi. Nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

Can he see out of the window? I know Yorkies commonly get ill but ours has done okay as long as he can see the horizon. You may have to practice on short jaunts to get him used to the sensation? That may work and we wish you luck. I'm sure your little guy is awesome and of course you want him to travel with the family. I wonder about Dramamine for dogs. Have you asked your vet?

Ginger is an excellent tummy soother for a variety of species; as effective as Dramamine. You can check with your vet, but you can give it to him in a capsule or mushed up in a favorite food.

We have one Yorkie that gets car sick and give her one half dramamine tablet, it seem to work pretty well. She doesn't seem to be bothered much when we travel in our MH. Good luck, Chuck & Cissie

we had a yorkie like that
we had to give him pet tranquilizers before each trip and let him lounge on his pillow in a quiet place
other wise he would simply go nuts and cause himself to hyperventilate

Ginger snap cookies!!!! You have to read the label to be sure they have some ginger in them and not just the flavor, this is great because you do not have to trick them into taking it. We give the doggie one a while before the trip and then one to munch on as we get started. I even get one to make sure of me
See yall in the funnies, eieio

While we haven't had yorkies our current and last dog both woudl get car sick even when we were in ou rlast rig which was a large DP.
The 2 things that we found worked the best was to get them up high enough that they could easily see out of the front window and on occasion to give them a 100% honey candy or real ginger candy.

I also recommend ginger since it is great for motion sickness (I take it myself so I know it works). We get the ginger capsules from the health food store and sprinkle it over the dog's food in the morning.
The cookie suggestion is a good one but be careful with people food as some of the fake sweeteners used are toxic to dogs. If you go the cookie route make sure it has real sugar.
