Maggie is home! She has a long recovery before she is completely healed but we are glad to have her back with us.

That's great news! She'll really improve fast now that she's home with her family.

Great News!! I think you will find that being home will tire her the first day or two, but after that she will thrive with all the care from her family.

She came in the house and sniffed around to make sure this was her home and then tried to jump on the couch. The couch is her favorite spot but no jumping allowed until the stitches and staple are removed. She went to the bedroom and found her bed and hasn't moved since. She should be ready for the trip to Indio in 4 weeks.

The rabid craziness against CCWP in Cali is the reason I will never reside there as a "resident". Charlie Manson, The Russian River Killer, The Zodiac Killer, etc... all had no fear of their victims because of the flower totin hippies and alternate lifestyle nut cases.
When bad comes to visit I will be ready to protect my DW, Dogs, and even myself, count on it. I did have a CCWP when I was statoined in Cali from 68 to 74, and from 81 thru 83, but now would not even be considered:(
Our prayers go out to Maggie and you and we hope a speedy recovery comes to you and the travels restart soon !

She gets better every day and on Friday they will remove the staples and stitches. It is hard to keep her from jumping on and off the couch but otherwise she has been a good little patient.

Glad to hear all the positive updates, we will keep Maggie in our prayers. She is a cutie.
I am disappointed the other guy appears to be getting off Scot-Free, especially after $12k in medical expenses. However, the important thing is that Maggie will be ok, focus you energy on her and let karma or a big linebacker with a small poodle fix the other guy.
As an EMT with 2 dogs and 3 cats, I like to recommend a great book to those with pets. Pet First Aid & Disaster Response Guide by Elaine Acker . It's put out by http://petsamerica.org/index.html. Well worth the price. It's a quick read and a great reference. I keep a copy in my "people trauma bag".
