Dog Beach Lovers Key

We're staying in Bonita Springs and went to the dog beach today. Been there quite a few times but this was a first for a weekend, all I can say is wow. The tide was in and the beach wasn't very big. There were at least 150 dogs of every size shape and breed romping in the water having a great time,along with the owners. I saw no out of the way actions by any of the dogs it was great. Zeus made a bunch of new friends. I would recommend it to any dog owners that get down this way. This is our third year going there and was by far the best.

What's the name of the campground you are staying at and how far is it to the dog beach from the campground?

Bonita Lakes Rv Resort, On Old Rt 41 in Bonita springs, it's 5 or 6 miles

We stopped there on our way south last year (stayed at Koreshan State Park) and definitely enjoyed it. We also stopped at Fort de Soto which has an awesome dog beach 1 mile from the campground. Even further north on the Panhandle check out St.Joseph. We just spent a week there and although they don't allow dogs in the State Park there is public beach access just a mile from the SP that is dog friendly. Truly fabulous beach.
