Do any of you have or ever seen the Retract-A-Gate?

Video

It looks interesting and they make one that is 72" (6') wide.

I am looking for a gate that goes from the slide (that is in back of me when in the road position) to the area behind the passengers captain chair.

And with additional brackets it could also be used in other areas of the coach, like the entry door.

BTW, we took our three dogs out last weekend for the first time in the motorhome. They were ten thousand times better the expected. We had such a blast hiking (5-8 miles a day) with them. Really looking foward to a week long trip to maryland in May.

Went to Walmart and bought the largest baby gate they had. Fits perfectly between drivers and passenger seats.

Is it a retractable like the one above? Or is it a accordion type?

Any name brand on it? Maybe I can look it up online?

It's wood, made by Evenflo #662. Adjustable, basically 2 gates connected with a lever adjuster for width. Not retractable like the one shown. Our dogs would eat that one before I got it in Drive

The retract a gate looks a lot like the old window shades and at 72" max. wouldn't do for most 8+" RV's. Looks like it needs to be hard mounted so soft seat mounting might be interesting.
Why not an 8' piece of nylon fabric (screening or sun screen) with a wooden moulding or dowel at both ends (screening stapled to it) and hooks of some sort?

I am at around 6' when the slide is in. I would mount one end on the slide (behind the drivers seat) and the other behind the passengers captains chair.

I would only need it for when traveling, not parked.

Thanks for the gate number.

We only use ours when traveling as well, keeps the 90lb Lab and 60lb Husky in the back out of the way. If I let them they would lay on e dash the whole trip just so they don't miss anything.

if you need a solution while traveling, what about seatbelts instead of a gate ?

we harness our 90 lb sheepdog into her dog seatbelt that we use in the car.

she sits on the floor next to the couch and I loop the seatbelt lead through the latched person seatbelt. will take a pic on our next outing.

she can stand up, turn around, stretch, ... but she won't become a missle on a quick stop.

I could see one dog seat belted, but three dogs seat belted? I do not think I would want to try that one.

I think the gate will work just fine.

Sounds good definitely want to see a picture. Your rig can actually make a "quick" stop? .

Update: our new retract a gate was a huge success. Not only did the pups stay in place it rolls up to take up no space. Not to mention with a extra pair of mounting brackets we could use it in another location.
